Fast-response sensors
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005546
Instruments designed to measure atmospheric variables at very high frequencies, typically several times per second. They capture rapid fluctuations in properties like wind velocity, temperature, humidity, and gas concentrations that are characteristic of atmospheric turbulence. Common examples include sonic anemometers, which measure wind and virtual temperature, and open-path infrared gas analyzers for measuring water vapor and carbon dioxide densities.
