Frequency response

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005782

The quantitative measure of the output spectrum of a system or device in response to a stimulus, as a function of frequency. In atmospheric instrumentation, it describes how accurately a sensor can detect changes in a variable over different rates of change. A sensor with a good frequency response can capture rapid fluctuations in atmospheric conditions.
