The component of a radar or radio antenna system that gathers electromagnetic waves from a reflector and directs them to a receiver, or radiates outgoing waves from a transmitter onto the reflector. In a parabolic dish antenna used for weather radar, the feed horn is positioned at the focal point of the dish. Its precise placement and design determine the antenna's beam shape and efficiency.
