Conical beam
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004596
A radio-frequency or microwave signal transmitted or received by an antenna in a cone-shaped pattern. This beam shape is produced by specific antenna designs, such as a horn or parabolic dish, and is characterized by its beamwidth, the angle where the power drops to half its maximum value. Conical scanning radars use a rotating conical beam to determine a target's angular position with high precision.
