Phased-array antenna
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007899
An antenna system composed of multiple individual radiating elements, where the phase of the signal fed to each element is electronically controlled. This allows the antenna's radiation pattern, including its main beam direction, to be steered without physically moving the antenna. Weather radars increasingly employ phased-array technology for faster scanning and more flexible beam steering.
