Dipole antenna
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005032
A type of antenna consisting of two conductive elements, typically rods or wires, aligned end-to-end and fed at the center. These antennas are widely used in meteorological applications for transmitting and receiving radio waves, such as in radar systems and radiosondes. A half-wave dipole, with each element approximately a quarter-wavelength long, is a common configuration.
