Field permeability
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005566
The rate at which water can move through a soil or rock layer under natural conditions in the field. This property is determined by the interconnectedness of pores and fractures, influencing groundwater flow and infiltration rates. Field permeability is often measured using methods like the double-ring infiltrometer or pump tests.
