Field of view

The extent of the observable world that can be seen by an instrument or sensor at any given moment. In remote sensing and atmospheric observation, it defines the angular or spatial region from which a satellite or ground-based sensor collects data. For example, a weather radar's field of view determines the area it can scan for precipitation.
