Finite depth
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005585
A characteristic of a fluid layer, such as the atmosphere or ocean, where its vertical extent is limited and not considered infinite. This constraint influences the behavior of waves and other dynamic processes within the fluid, as boundaries at the top and bottom reflect or modify disturbances. Many atmospheric models assume a finite depth for the troposphere.
