Dynamic boundary condition
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005200
A mathematical constraint applied at the interface between two different media or at the edge of a computational domain in atmospheric models. It specifies the behavior of fluid variables, such as velocity or pressure, at these boundaries, allowing for the exchange of momentum and energy. For instance, at the ocean-atmosphere interface, it dictates the wind stress exerted on the ocean surface.
