Dye laser
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005199
A laser that uses an organic dye solution as its gain medium, capable of producing coherent light over a broad spectrum of wavelengths. The specific wavelength can be tuned by adjusting the dye concentration or using optical elements like gratings. These lasers are employed in atmospheric remote sensing for applications such as lidar, where specific wavelengths are needed to interact with atmospheric constituents.
