Ekman boundary conditions

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005296

Mathematical constraints applied at the top and bottom surfaces of a fluid layer to describe the behavior of the Ekman layer. These conditions specify the stress exerted by the wind on the ocean surface or the no-slip condition at the seabed. They are used in oceanography and atmospheric science to model the transfer of momentum between the atmosphere and the ocean.
