Float barograph
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005625
A type of barograph that measures and records atmospheric pressure changes using a float mechanism. A sealed float, often containing mercury or another liquid, rises and falls with variations in air pressure, and its movement is mechanically linked to a pen that traces a continuous line on a rotating drum. This instrument provides a continuous graphical record of pressure over time.
