Fluctuation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005649

A short-term, irregular variation or oscillation in a meteorological parameter, such as temperature, pressure, wind speed, or humidity, around its mean value. These deviations can occur over seconds, minutes, or hours due to turbulent processes or small-scale atmospheric phenomena. Atmospheric turbulence is a primary cause of rapid fluctuations in wind velocity.
