Temperature microscale

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009535

The study and measurement of temperature variations over very small spatial scales, typically meters or less, and short time periods. This field investigates fine-scale thermal gradients and fluctuations near surfaces, within vegetation canopies, or in turbulent boundary layers. It is relevant for understanding heat exchange processes at the interface between the atmosphere and the ground.
