Integral length scales
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006576
Measures of the characteristic sizes of the largest turbulent eddies within a fluid flow. These scales represent the average distance over which the velocity fluctuations are correlated in a turbulent field. They are used in atmospheric boundary layer studies to characterize the dominant scales of turbulence and their influence on atmospheric transport and diffusion.
