General circulation model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005895
A complex numerical model that simulates the Earth's climate system by solving a set of mathematical equations describing atmospheric and oceanic processes. These models represent the global circulation of the atmosphere and oceans, including energy transfer, moisture transport, and interactions with land and ice. GCMs are fundamental tools for climate research, weather forecasting, and projecting future climate change.
(GCMs) - These computer simulations reproduce the Earth's weather patterns and can be used to predict change in the weather and climate.
