Homoclime
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010540
A location whose climate closely matches that of another, specified location, even if the two are far apart. Matching is done on key variables such as temperature range, rainfall amount, and seasonality, and is used in pest-risk and species-introduction studies to judge where an organism from one place could establish. Parts of coastal California and the Mediterranean coast of France are homoclimes of each other because both have dry-summer Mediterranean climates.
