Homogeneous atmosphere
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006265
A theoretical atmospheric model where the density is assumed to be uniform throughout its vertical extent, rather than decreasing with altitude. In this simplified model, the pressure decreases linearly with height, and the atmosphere has a finite, constant height. This concept is a simplification and does not accurately represent the real atmosphere, which is compressible.
