Hypsithermal period

A period of warmer global temperatures that occurred during the mid-Holocene epoch, roughly between 9,000 and 5,000 years ago. This interval is also known as the Holocene Climatic Optimum. Evidence suggests global mean temperatures were slightly higher than present, leading to changes in vegetation patterns and sea levels.
