Altithermal period

A past climatic interval characterized by significantly warmer temperatures than the present, occurring during the Holocene epoch, roughly between 9,000 and 5,000 years ago. This period is also known as the Holocene Climatic Optimum. Evidence from ice cores, pollen records, and ocean sediments indicates widespread warming, particularly in the Northern Hemisphere.
