Lagrangian mean current

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006841

The average velocity of fluid parcels as they move through a fluid, calculated by following their individual trajectories over a period. This differs from the Eulerian mean current, which is the average velocity at a fixed point in space. It is particularly relevant for understanding the net transport of substances in a fluid.
