Los Angeles (photochemical) smog

A type of air pollution formed when sunlight reacts with nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds emitted from vehicles and industrial sources. This reaction produces ground-level ozone and other harmful secondary pollutants, creating a brownish haze. It is particularly prevalent in warm, sunny climates with stagnant air, such as the Los Angeles basin.
