Photochemical oxidants

Secondary air pollutants formed in the atmosphere through chemical reactions driven by sunlight, which are capable of oxidizing other substances. The most prominent example is ground-level ozone (O3). These oxidants are harmful to human health, vegetation, and materials, and are a major component of photochemical smog.
