Mamma

A supplementary cloud feature characterized by hanging, pouch-like protuberances on the underside of a cloud. These formations are caused by sinking air within the cloud, often associated with strong downdrafts in cumulonimbus clouds. Mamma are most frequently observed with cumulonimbus clouds but can also occur with other cloud types like altocumulus or stratocumulus.
