Mamatele
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010597
A light northwesterly wind of Sicily, regarded as a form of the mistral, the cold northwesterly wind best known from southern France. It is also called mamaliti or mamatili. Unlike the strong, gusty mistral of the Rhone valley and Provence, it is a gentle wind, so the name marks a regional variant rather than a separate wind type.
