Man-machine mix
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010598
A forecasting approach that combines the computational power of numerical weather prediction models with the interpretive skills of a human meteorologist. The forecaster analyzes model output, identifies potential biases or errors, and adjusts the final forecast based on experience, conceptual models, and recent observations. This method contrasts with fully automated forecasting systems, which generate predictions directly from model output without human intervention.
