Manning equation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007101
An empirical formula used to calculate the velocity of flow in an open channel or conduit. It relates the flow velocity to the hydraulic radius, the slope of the energy line, and a roughness coefficient. This equation is widely applied in hydrology and hydraulic engineering to estimate water flow in rivers and drainage systems.
