Manometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007102
An instrument used for measuring pressure, particularly small pressure differences, by balancing a column of fluid against the pressure to be measured. It consists of a U-shaped tube containing a liquid, such as mercury or water, with one end open to the atmosphere or a reference pressure and the other connected to the pressure source. The height difference between the liquid levels indicates the pressure.
