Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007113
A type of climate characterized by relatively mild temperatures, high humidity, and abundant precipitation, strongly influenced by proximity to a large body of water. Ocean currents and the high heat capacity of water moderate temperature extremes, leading to cooler summers and warmer winters compared to continental climates at similar latitudes.
