Oceanicity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007666
A measure of the degree to which a region's climate is influenced by the ocean. Areas with high oceanicity experience smaller annual and diurnal temperature ranges, higher humidity, and more precipitation distributed throughout the year, compared to continental climates. This is due to the high heat capacity of water, which moderates temperature fluctuations.
