Meteoric dust

Fine particulate matter originating from extraterrestrial sources, such as comets and asteroids, that enters Earth's atmosphere. These particles ablate as they descend, contributing to the formation of noctilucent clouds and serving as condensation nuclei for atmospheric ice crystals. An estimated 40,000 tons of meteoric dust falls to Earth annually.
