Moisture inversion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007374
An atmospheric layer where the specific humidity or mixing ratio increases with height, contrary to the typical decrease observed in the troposphere. This condition often occurs above a stable boundary layer or at the top of a cloud layer. It can trap pollutants and inhibit vertical mixing of moisture.
