MST radar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007438
An abbreviation for Mesosphere-Stratosphere-Troposphere radar, a type of atmospheric radar used to measure wind velocities and turbulence in the lower and middle atmosphere. These radars operate at very high frequencies and detect echoes from refractive index irregularities caused by atmospheric turbulence. They provide continuous vertical profiles of wind and turbulence parameters.
