Cloud-detection radar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004452
A type of radar system specifically designed to detect and characterize clouds, often operating at millimeter wavelengths. These radars can penetrate clouds more effectively than optical sensors and provide information on cloud base, top, and internal structure. Cloud-detection radars are distinct from weather radars, which primarily detect precipitation.
