Partial drought

A period of at least 29 consecutive days during which the mean daily rainfall does not exceed 0.2 millimeters. This meteorological definition quantifies a prolonged period of abnormally low precipitation. It is one of several criteria used to classify drought conditions, differing from an absolute drought which requires no measurable rainfall.
