Plume rise model
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007985
A mathematical formulation that predicts the vertical distance a buoyant plume of emitted pollutants or gases will travel above its release point before horizontal dispersion dominates. These models account for factors such as emission velocity, temperature difference, and atmospheric stability. The effective stack height, which is the physical stack height plus the plume rise, is used in air quality dispersion calculations.
