Pluviometric quotient

A ratio used to characterize the distribution of rainfall throughout the year, often in relation to temperature or potential evapotranspiration. It provides an indicator of the effectiveness of precipitation for plant growth or water availability. This quotient is frequently employed in climatological classifications, such as those developed by Emberger for Mediterranean climates.
