Price meter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008143
A mechanical current meter used to measure the speed of water flow in rivers and streams, consisting of a series of conical cups mounted on a vertical axis that rotate when exposed to moving water. The rotation rate is proportional to the water velocity, which is then recorded by a counter. This instrument is commonly used in hydrological studies to determine discharge rates.
