Pyranograph

A self-recording instrument designed to measure and record the intensity of global solar radiation, which includes both direct and diffuse components. It consists of a bimetallic strip or thermopile sensor that responds to solar radiation, connected to a mechanical linkage that drives a pen across a rotating chart drum. These devices provide a continuous graphical record of solar irradiance over a period, often 24 hours or a week.
