Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003267
A self-recording instrument designed to continuously measure and record the intensity of solar radiation. It typically employs a bimetallic strip or a set of differential thermometers to sense changes in radiation, which are then mechanically or electronically translated into a trace on a rotating drum or digital output. This device provides a continuous record of solar irradiance over time.
