Actinometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003268
An instrument used to measure the intensity of solar radiation, particularly the actinic or chemically active portion of the spectrum. It often works by measuring the rate of a photochemical reaction or the heating effect of radiation on a dark surface. Actinometers are employed in meteorology and atmospheric chemistry to quantify the energy available for atmospheric processes.
