Dosimeter

A device used to measure and record the cumulative dose of ionizing radiation absorbed by an individual or an object over a period. In atmospheric science, dosimeters can be employed to monitor exposure to natural background radiation or to track the dispersion of radioactive materials in the atmosphere. Common types include thermoluminescent dosimeters and film badges.
