Pyrheliograph

An instrument that continuously measures and records the intensity of direct solar radiation. It typically consists of a pyrheliometer mounted on a sun-tracking mechanism, which keeps the sensor pointed directly at the sun. The data collected by a pyrheliograph are used to study atmospheric turbidity and solar energy resources.
