Raindrop
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008374
A discrete particle of liquid water that falls from the atmosphere, formed through the condensation and coalescence of smaller cloud droplets. Raindrops are distinguished from drizzle by their larger diameter, which exceeds 0.5 millimeters. Their shape can vary from nearly spherical for smaller drops to more oblate for larger ones due to air resistance.
