Santa Ana

A strong, dry, and warm katabatic wind that descends from the elevated desert plateaus of the Great Basin into coastal Southern California. These winds are typically strongest in autumn and winter, flowing through mountain passes and canyons. The Santa Ana winds are notorious for increasing wildfire risk due to their low humidity and high speeds.
