The International System of Units, a globally recognized system of measurement based on seven base units: meter, kilogram, second, ampere, kelvin, mole, and candela. This system provides a consistent framework for scientific and technical measurements, including those in meteorology and atmospheric science. Atmospheric pressure, for example, is often expressed in pascals (Pa), an SI derived unit.
