Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010620

A system of units for physical quantities where the fundamental units are the meter for length, the tonne (1000 kilograms) for mass, and the second for time. This system was historically used in some engineering and meteorological contexts, particularly in Europe. It differs from the more widely adopted International System of Units (SI), which uses the kilogram as the base unit of mass.
