Fps system
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005745
A system of units that uses the foot for length, the pound for mass or force, and the second for time. While largely superseded by the International System of Units (SI) in scientific contexts, it is still encountered in some meteorological applications, particularly in historical data or specific operational practices in certain regions. For example, atmospheric pressure might be expressed in pounds per square inch (psi) in some engineering contexts.
