Stoke
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009266
A CGS unit of kinematic viscosity, defined as one square centimeter per second. It measures a fluid's resistance to flow under gravity, normalized by its density. While still encountered in some contexts, the SI unit for kinematic viscosity is square meters per second (m^2/s), where 1 stoke equals 10^-4 m^2/s.
